Online Counselling in English, Anywhere in Thailand
Closing the Wound offers online counselling in English to adults and couples anywhere in Thailand. Sessions are with a US-trained, master’s-level therapist based in Yangon. You can start with a free 15-minute intro call.
An English-Speaking Therapist, Wherever You Live in Thailand
Sessions take place online, so the same therapist is available to you in a large city or a small town. Clients include both expats and Thais: people who have moved to Thailand, and Thai people who work or study in English and prefer to talk in it. Your English does not need to be perfect, only comfortable enough for personal conversations.
Teachers at international and language schools can read more in Counselling for teachers, which covers burnout, workload and moving between schools.
Online Therapy in Bangkok
If you live or work in Bangkok and want an English-speaking therapist, you can join a session from home or from a private room at work. There is no travel across the city, so a session can fit around a working day.
Online Therapy in Chiang Mai
If you live in Chiang Mai or elsewhere in the north, sessions take place online, so your choice of an English-speaking therapist is not limited to who is nearby. The Emergency contacts page also lists a Thai-language Samaritans line based in Chiang Mai.
What Counselling Can Help With
Sessions for adults and couples cover:
- Complex trauma (C-PTSD)
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Life transitions, including settling into life in Thailand
- Relationship difficulties, on your own or as a couple
Sessions combine narrative therapy, somatic work, parts work and CBT techniques with mindfulness. Therapy approaches explains each one.
Privacy and Your Personal Data
A session needs a private room where you will not be overheard. Headphones help if others are nearby. Because sessions are online, there is no waiting room where you might meet someone you know. How online sessions work covers the rest.
Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act treats health information as sensitive personal data, which in most cases may be collected only with your explicit consent. The Act also covers providers outside Thailand who serve people in Thailand, so it applies to this practice. The Privacy page explains how your information is handled and how to use your rights.
